RFMA Committees

Thank you for your interest in joining a RFMA Committee!
RFMA offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to help our members participate and engage in RFMA.

At RFMA, we value the input of our diverse membership. Our committees and groups exist to leverage talents gained through our individual backgrounds and experiences. We engage, develop and connect our members through a wide range of programs, events, and community outreach projects.

  • Females in Facilities Group - Inspiring women leaders
  • Young Professionals Group - Growing younger talent
  • Vendor Voice Committee – Listening to the needs of our sponsors and exhibitors
  • Advisory Council – Leaning on the wisdom of our most experienced members
  • RFMA Gives  – Volunteering for communities in need
  • Franchisee Task Force – Providing resources specific to the franchise community

Serving on a RFMA Committee:

  • Must be a current RFMA member
  • Two-year commitment
  • Work throughout the year on projects that align with RFMA’s mission statement
  • Participate in monthly conference calls (up to an hour) and
    a required in-person meeting at RFMA’s Annual Conference
  • Report to RFMA Board of Directors  

Serving on a Task Force:

  • Must be a current RFMA member
  • Report directly to a RFMA Committee
  •  Conference Calls and frequency of meetings will be on an as needed basis

Please complete the online committee involvement form below. Once your form has been submitted,  it will be reviewed and then you will be contacted by RFMA. 

RFMA will be accepting Committee and Task Force applications from December 1-20, 2019. 

RFMA Committees

Conference Curriculum Committee
- Assist with selection of conference curriculum offerings for the RFMA Annual Conference
- Assist with selection of signature speakers
Eligibility Requirement: Attended RFMA’s Annual Conference
Time Commitment: Annual commitment, monthly 1 hour conference calls.
May - July
- Review and Grade all submitted proposals
August - November - Review selected presentations and work with speakers to finalize their presentations. Each committee member volunteers to review one session for each conference.

Editorial Board

- Composed of RFMA members who review editorial submissions for RFMA's official publication, Facilitator. 
Eligibility Requirement: 15+ years of restaurant facility management experience; a variety of experience is encouraged. Restaurant brand professional members only. 
Time Commitment: Each Editorial Board member will review and comment on up to 10 articles per issue

Membership Development Committee

-Market RFMA membership and its benefits to prospective members
Eligibility Requirement: Attended RFMA events, been a RFMA member for at least 1 year
Time Commitment: Monthly conference calls

Franchisee Task Force

- Builds strategies to recruit facility professionals working for franchisees to RFMA
- Participating in this Task Force will give you an opportunity to help shape the way RFMA recruits' franchisees

Eligibility Requirement: Restaurant Franchisee member
Time Commitment: Monthly conference calls

Member Engagement Committee
- InSite community development: connect, moderate Online Forums, encourage participation
- Assist RFMA staff in picking regional event activities
- Evaluate current member benefits & member retention strategy
- Reviews RFMy award submissions
- Plan and present Maximize Your Membership webinars (up to 4 times per year)
- Plan monthly Peer to Peer Calls 
- Oversee and participate in Red Carpet Crew: Welcoming Committee
- Create new programs for RFMA members to interact and network
Time Commitment:
Monthly conference call

Red Carpet Crew Task Force
- Contact and welcome new RFMA members to the association
- This Task Force reports to the Member Engagement Committee
Time Commitment: No meetings, email communication with RFMA staff and members

Buzz Council
- Increase awareness and interaction with your peers on RFMA's online community, SocialLink
- Brainstorm new ideas and strategies for increasing engagement on SocialLink
- This Council reports to the Member Engagement Committee
Time Commitment: Bi-monthly conference calls; Regularly interacts with RFMA members on SocialLink and other social media platforms

Online Learning Committee

- Plan and pick topics for RFMA-U webinars each calendar year
- Solicit RFMA-U online webinars that address restaurant facilities topics
- Evaluate success of past webinars 
Time Commitment: Monthly conference calls

RFMA Resources Committee
- Solicit key online restaurant facility resources for RFMA’s online resource library
- Create and evaluate benchmarking opportunities
- Set up and moderate Peer to Partner Best Practices Calls
-Oversee Best Practices submissions
Eligibility Requirement: At least two years of experience in Restaurant Facility Management
Time Commitment: Monthly conference call

Vendor Voice Committee
- Serves as representative for RFMA's diverse Vendor-Allied membership
Eligibility Requirements: 3+ years as a RFMA member; Knowledge of RFMA resources, tools and vendor offerings/opportunities; Exhibited at RFMA's Annual Conference
