Good Morning, RFMA Gives Go-Getters!

More than 180 RFMA members and volunteers poured their talents, time, and passion into giving back to Thriving Families of Colorado, the site of RFMA Gives 2026.

Work is continuing at Thriving Families of Colorado. Since our volunteer day, the water softener has been installed, plumbing work in the kitchen is complete, and landscaping borders have been placed. A punch-out list volunteer day is scheduled for November 21, 2025. If you live in the Denver, Colorado area or would like to participate, please contact Carl LeBoeuf.

As we move forward, there are still a few key items needed to complete our RFMA Gives 2026 project. Please review and let us know what you can provide in terms of equipment, labor, and/or financial donations:

Our Denver Project Managers, Cory and Karen Briddle with BriddleWood Facilities Services, recently dedicated their time to supporting another Denver organization and also our 2012 RFMA Gives project recipient, SAME Café. The team spent the day organizing and removing equipment, providing much-needed help to refresh and improve the space. Thank you, Cory and Karen, for your generosity and hard work!

Thank you again to all our RFMA Gives 2026 donors and volunteers. Each of your meaningful contributions helped us bring a huge impact to the Denver community. We can’t wait to reveal our finished RFMA Gives project during the RFMys Luncheon at our RFMA 2026 Annual Conference at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center.

This year, more than 180 RFMA members and volunteers brought their hearts, time, and talents to our 16th annual RFMA Gives project at Thriving Families, in Denver, CO. We worked together on projects that included installing cabinets in the staff break room and store area, landscaping, demolishing and building new walls, painting and organizing. A special thank you to all who volunteered and donated to the RFMA Gives Trailer and Thriving Families. Also, please note the policy for multiple donors for the same product and/or service:

• Once the potential items and projects have been established and formally communicated to the membership, there will be a two (2) week time period for receiving initial donations of products and services.

• If multiple companies within the same product category submit a request to donate a product or service, there will be a drawing or possibly a splitting of the product or service between the competing vendors.

• The project managers have the right to make exceptions, such as if one product better meets the scope of work than the others, or if one offer exceeds the total commitment of the others such as including installation plus equipment.

• If the same two companies submit to provide a product or service in consecutive years, the company that wasn’t chosen in the prior year will be selected for the subsequent year. If more than those two companies submit and there will be a drawing.

• Any company that is not selected to donate their own product or service, is still invited and encouraged to donate funds to underwrite a different part of the project and participate in the volunteer work day.
• Once the submission window has closed, all subsequent submissions will be taken on a first come first served basis.

Also, please note the policy for multiple donors for the same product and/or service:

• Once the potential items and projects have been established and formally communicated to the membership, there will be a two (2) week time period for receiving initial donations of products and services.

• If multiple companies within the same product category submit a request to donate a product or service, there will be a drawing or possibly a splitting of the product or service between the competing vendors.

• The project managers have the right to make exceptions, such as if one product better meets the scope of work than the others, or if one offer exceeds the total commitment of the others such as including installation plus equipment.

• If the same two companies submit to provide a product or service in consecutive years, the company that wasn’t chosen in the prior year will be selected for the subsequent year. If more than those two companies submit and there will be a drawing.

• Any company that is not selected to donate their own product or service, is still invited and encouraged to donate funds to underwrite a different part of the project and participate in the volunteer work day.
• Once the submission window has closed, all subsequent submissions will be taken on a first come first served basis.

We are almost ready to release the Project Wish-list for our 2025 RFMA Gives project at the Restoration and Recovery Foundation (RRF) in N. Las Vegas but prior to that, there is a big need for an immediate donation of forty (40), 2’ x 8’ plastic rectangle folding tables and one hundred (100) folding chairs.

Projects continue to be completed at the Wells House in Frederick, MD. Take a look at the photos provided and thanks to the following:

First off – THANK YOU for all the participants for our Volunteer Day on Sept.16^th at the Wells House in Frederick, MD. We had over 160 members painting, landscaping, installing lights, water heaters, a dishmachine and other activities that helped the Wells House in their assistance to the less fortunate in the Frederick, MD area. It was a beautiful day and all of us had a wonderfully rewarding time working with Wells House staff doing what needed to be done. I’ve never been prouder to see the engagement of our members in helping the Wells House.

• Once the potential items and projects have been established and formally communicated to the membership, there will be a two (2) week time period for receiving initial donations of products and services.

• If multiple companies within the same product category submit a request to donate a product or service, there will be a drawing or possibly a splitting of the product or service between the competing vendors.

• The project managers have the right to make exceptions, such as if one product better meets the scope of work than the others, or if one offer exceeds the total commitment of the others such as including installation plus equipment.

• If the same two companies submit to provide a product or service in consecutive years, the company that wasn’t chosen in the prior year will be selected for the subsequent year. If more than those two companies submit and there will be a drawing.

• Any company that is not selected to donate their own product or service, is still invited and encouraged to donate funds to underwrite a different part of the project and participate in the volunteer work day.

The finish line is near at the Southside Community Center (SSCC) in San Marcos for our 2023 RFMA Gives project. Take a look at the attached photos. Southside has received a new 3-door cooler supplied by Design Service Solutions(DSS), a new Eliason kitchen door supplied and installed by Vortex Industries, LLC., a new upright refrigerator donated by Hobart Service, a new 800 lb. self-contained ice machine and bin, supplied by CoolSys and a complete sidewalk replacement donated by Mad Jack's Asphalt & Concrete, LLC. All of this will provide Southside an opportunity to provide their clients with healthier food options and a safer environment. A few remaining projects to be completed are: repave exiting back parking lot (Elite Paving), new window blinds (Roll-A-Shade), and new cabinetry throughout the Admin and Transitional Living buildings (K&J Woodworks). Special thanks to this year’s Project Managers – Kim Battle, Jay Andruk, CRFP, Carl LeBoeuf, CRFP, Kris Kirpes, and Bruce Ahlswede.

It’s been another wonderful charity event and our members continue to give back so easily. Southside is very grateful for all that has been done to help them help the less fortunate in San Marcos, TX. Hopefully you will be joining us in San Antonio in March at our national conference as we'll be sharing our latest RFMA Gives story during the Opening Session. After visiting several wonderful organizations in the San Antonio area, SSCC was chosen because of its great fit and the large impact our members will be able to make. Work has definitely begun at this year’s RFMA Gives location in Nashville, Community Care Fellowship (CCF). This is the first of a few blogs showing the progress thus far. As most are aware, we had a great Volunteer Day on Saturday, Sept. 25^th but prior to that there were several projects completed. Following are the details:

• Mad Jack’s Asphalt & Concrete, LLC completed several parking lot repairs which included a new apron, replaced a large “alligator” area, installed a new sidewalk and drainage system and a complete seal and stripe. Check out the photos.
• Optec-LED Lighting supplied numerous exterior LED wall pack fixtures which DSS installed during the Volunteer Day. These provide additional safety, utility and bulb replacement savings for CCF. Check out the crew installing these.
• ENTOUCH supplied and installed a complete EMS for the facility which will enable CCF to save valuable dollars in reduced utility charges.

Continuing on the project completions at Community Care Fellowship (CCF), here are some more wonderful donations that will benefit CCF:

• CMS Nextech, supplied and installed a new slit system HVAC for the kitchen. They only had limited conditioned air in the past and this will help all the staff while meals are prepared in this warm area.
• Facility Solutions Group supplied almost sixty (60) replacement LED surface mounted ceiling lights. Some were installed during the volunteer day while DSS installed the remaining fixtures. This will enable CCF to lower their utility and bulb replacement costs and improve the lighting in the dining, laundry, and restroom areas.
• BOSS Facility Services, Inc. replaced the flagpole at the entrance of CCF. They also landscaped the base area during the volunteer day.
• The Water Heater Man, Intellihot, & Rheem all supplied replacement hot water heaters that were installed by The Water Heater Man and Joe Salvage from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
• Southern Pipe and Viega supplied plumbing and venting materials for the water heater installations.

RFMA is humbled and pleased to announce our RFMA Gives 2022 project recipient is the Community Care Fellowship located in Nashville, TN. After visiting several wonderful organizations in the Nashville area, Community Care was chosen because of its great fit and the large impact our members may be able to make. Community Care is a facility united with the United Methodist Church.

Community Care’s mission is to “serve Christ by providing families and individuals who are at risk of chronic homelessness and poverty with hope, love, and resources so that they may experience physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation". They address hunger and hygiene, along with counseling or other social services. Learn more about Community Care Fellowship and their mission by visiting https://www.ccfnashville.org/.

I would also like to thank and welcome this year's project manager, Shane Brock, CRFP, from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. We are scheduled to complete a “deep-dive” at the facility on Wednesday, June 2^nd to determine our RFMA Gives 2022 wish list. The list will include equipment, projects, services, and other items that could benefit Community Care in growing their services within their local community. The list should be blogged out sometime in the middle of June.

Our RFMA Gives 2022 Volunteer Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 25th. Due to the pandemic, plans could change but we are not anticipating any issues. Stay tuned for Volunteer Day updates in the coming months.

We are very excited about partnering with Community Care Fellowship in 2022 and look forward to another wonderful RFMA Gives project. Just wanted to share this local new report detailing our Volunteer Day at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen. It doesn't seem like it's been over a month but is was such a success due to our passionate members. Great press for the soup kitchen in how they help the less fortunate in Rock Hill, SC. Their Director, Jan Stephenson, does a great job explaining how they were chosen and how grateful she is for the support from our members. The jobs are starting and donations continue to come in for our 2021 RFMA Gives project at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen in Rock Hill, SC. I continued to be amazed with the generosity of our members. We are so excited for our Volunteer Day tomorrow at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen (DDSK). It's going to be another sunny day in South Carolina and the 60+ participants have all been preparing for another wonderful event. Take a look at the attached photos. Some actual work has already started with the replacement of numerous electrical sockets, new LED ceiling fixtures, and landscaping. The materials are here, staged, and ready to go. Also, please note the policy for multiple donors for the same product and/or service:

• Once the potential items and projects have been established and formally communicated to the membership, there will be a two (2) week time period for receiving initial donations of products and services.

• If multiple companies within the same product category submit a request to donate a product or service, there will be a drawing or possibly a splitting of the product or service between the competing vendors.

• The project managers have the right to make exceptions, such as if one product better meets the scope of work than the others, or if one offer exceeds the total commitment of the others such as including installation plus equipment.
