What year did you join RFMA? I attended by first conference in 2013 and officially joined in 2014.
Why did you join RFMA? RFMA is a tight-knit group of professionals that all look out for each other and try to help our peers, our customers, and our industry to get better and, in turn, improve the experiences for restaurant guests.
What do you like most about RFMA? I like how everyone is approachable and willing to help each other and others within the communities in which we work. We all call on each other to help. Seeing everyone at the conference each year is so enjoyable and every year make great connections with restaurateurs and vendors.
Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why? I really enjoy the new Insite. If we got more people posting information, questions, it would unlock the knowledge base we have in this group and further drive the value of RFMA.
What is your guilty pleasure? Trying different types of beer and whiskey from different parts of the world.
What is your ideal vacation? A small island with clear, shallow water, cold drinks, and great food with my family.
Who is your favorite sports team? The World Champion Chicago Cubs of course. I have been a lifelong fan since I was born and raised in Chicago (just so no one thinks I am a bandwagoner). Lots of seasons of sadness up until this last year!
What was the last book you read? Yikes. I am not much of a reader but I think it was “Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose” by Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos.com.
Describe your best day. My best work day is when I can help a customer with a difficult situation or help someone I work with, but my best days are the days I spend having fun with my wife and three kids.
If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing? If I weren’t in this industry, I think I would be a police officer or a Federal Agent for the FBI.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Dishes. Been around too many dirty dishes during my time in the industry.
What is one of your favorite quotes? “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” – Theodore Roosevelt
What is the most-played song? “Little Wing” - both the Jimi Hendrix and the Stevie Ray Vaughan versions
Do you have a secret talent and if so, what is it? I can do some pretty funny impressions, which I never realized until I had kids.
If you could meet an iconic person from History, who would it be? Abraham Lincoln
