Why did you join RFMA?  I was looking for the opportunity to network with other FMs & source new vendors.

What do you like most about RFMA?  The regional member meet-ups and the national conference.


Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why?
  Facilitator Magazine.

What is your ideal vacation? In the Caribbean – ocean, sand, sea breezes.

What was the last book you read?  Brava, Valentine by Adriana Trigiana  (I love to read, especially historical fiction!)

If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing?  Landscape Design.

Do you have a secret talent and if so, what is it?  I’m actually an artist and sold my work when I was younger.

What is your guilty pleasure? Cigars

What is your ideal vacation?
Hunting whitetails anywhere, anytime.

Describe your best day.  Golf in the morning and boating the rest of the day.

If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing? I would return to the medical profession.

Shoveling snow.

Why did you join RFMA?
I was encouraged by restaurateurs I was working with.

What do you like most about RFMA? The ability to exchange ideas and philosophies with some of the best professionals in our industry.

Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why?
I definitely read the Facilitator from cover to cover, but I also enjoy the multitude of resources on the website from the member directory to white papers and webinars.

What would be the title of your autobiography?
  “You’re not gonna believe this, but…”

What is your guilty pleasure? Cigars and In-N-Out Double-Doubles

What is your ideal vacation? Man, there’s so many. My wife loves the beach and I love the mountains, so it would have to include both of those elements…and accommodate my 3 crazy kids!

Who is your favorite sports team? Angels Baseball, baby!

What was the last book you read?
Germs, Guns & Steel by Jared Diamond (Thanks, Dan Clark!)


Describe your best day. My daughter was 7 months old and going in for the 2nd of what would turn out to be 3 open heart surgeries. The chances of them being able to repair the issue with her heart was speculated at less than 50%, my very best day was when those surgeons came out of the OR and told us they were able to repair her heart. Best day ever, hands down.

If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing?
Being a ninja.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Picking up dog pooh.

What is one of your favorite quotes? Can I have two? Seek to understand before you seek to be understood. Ignore the attitude and get the message.

What is the most-played song on your iPod? “Long White Line” by Sturgill Simpson

Do you have a secret talent and if so, what is it? I don’t necessarily know if it’s a secret but I have written, recorded and released 4 full length CD’s with two bands on two separate record labels.

If you could meet an iconic person from History, who would it be? Sir Isaac Newton

Why did you join RFMA? Needed an organization geared to Restaurants and the unique needs of this industry.

What do you like most about RFMA? Great source for vendors and education to help advance your career.

Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why? Vendor Directory / they understand the restaurant industry and its schedule needs.

What would be the title of your autobiography? WHO MADE THAT? , I love woodworking and 100 years from now my great, great, great grandchildren will be sitting on a bench or using a chest of drawers I made and that makes me feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. 

Who is your favorite sports team? ST Louis Cardinals / the best team in baseball

What was the last book you read? George Washington’s SECRET SIX there were spies’ long before James Bond and they helped our great country achieve independence and defeat the British.

Describe your best day. October 8TH, 1977 when I married my best friend

What is one of your favorite quotes? “Life is short ‘eat desert first’”

Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why? Probably the Facilitator Magazine. I like reading about what my peers, competition and customers are up to and it lets me know what RFMA is up to as well.

What would be the title of your autobiography? Medomalacuphobia – Inside the Mind of Micah Dyer

What is your guilty pleasure? Netflix Binging

What is your ideal vacation? Touring the United States on a motorcycle with my family

What is your ideal vacation? A week advancing my woodworking skills on a beach

Describe your best day. A partially sunny day, on an isolated beach, with adult refreshments, watching LSU football on TV. (no cell reception)

If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing? Combing the beach with a metal detector.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Painting

What year did you join RFMA?

Why did you join RFMA?  I joined RFMA to learn more about the industry and meet the people that make it tick (and keep it ticking).

What do you like most about RFMA?  The membership is what it is all about, and the Association does a great job of bringing them together to exchange ideas, learn, and collaborate.

Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why? I read the Dish Newsletter and Facilitator magazine religiously to keep on top of events, people, and organizations in the industry.

What is your ideal vacation? 4 days in a bustling city I’ve never been to followed by 3 days of doing nothing on a beach. Or maybe longer.

What was the last book you read? The Skies Belong to Us, by Brendan Koerner. It is about the golden age of commercial air hijacking, complete with hijackers, zero airport security, and Angela Davis; what more could you ask for?

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Changing diapers. Thankfully I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why did you join RFMA? I was a member of PRSM and was looking for more resources that we could apply to the restaurant equipment in our stores that most retailers don’t have.

What do you like most about RFMA? Connecting with other facilities managers to share best practices.

Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why? The “scopes of work” in the resource library are useful to make sure all elements of a job are accounted for when sending out work orders or RFQs

What would be the title of your autobiography? Try Everything Once

What is your ideal vacation?  2 weeks in a row. Seriously! We all have to do that more often. Also should include scuba diving, camping, hiking and cooking.

Who is your favorite sports team? The Montreal Canadiens… like most locals.

What was the last book you read? Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing? Developing my other talents with DAVIDsTEA

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning windows; they never look clean enough

What do you like most about RFMA? RFMA is my favorite organization that Chain Store Maintenance is a part of.  The staff is amazing – helpful and welcoming.  I’d have to say the relationships in general is my favorite part of RFMA.

Which RFMA Resource do you utilize the most and why? The website is very user friendly to see upcoming events, new members, educational information, etc.

What is your ideal vacation?  Anywhere with a beach and a cooler!


Who is your favorite sports team? The Super Bowl Champions… New England Patriots!


If you weren’t in the Facilities Industry, what would you be doing?
Teaching elementary school.  Children understand me :)


Do you have a secret talent and if so, what is it?  My co-workers will hate this answer but I can make myself look 6 months pregnant on command.
