Projects Are Getting Completed!

Posted By Jeff Dover, CRFP, RFMA, Friday, January 18, 2019
Updated: Thursday, January 17, 2019

Hello RFMA Members,

Projects are getting completed at Mobile Loaves & Fishes. The Community Table Pavilion had a pizza oven (Texas Oven Co.) installed along with new clear plastic roll-down awnings (Austin American Awning) which has made this area useful during the winter months. New A/C units for the restrooms in the Unity Hall were supplied and installed by CNSA (Consolidated Services of North America, LLC). The storage shed is now complete due to the efforts of Chipotle and K&N Management. Check out the photos of each included in this post. Additionally all the electrical work has been finished in the kitchen for all the new donated equipment and the tiny home is scheduled to be done soon which will formally end another wonderful RFMA Gives project.

For those of you attending our national conference next month in Austin, make sure you attend the Opening Session on Monday to see the RFMA Gives Presentation where RFMA gives thanks to all the contributors to this wonderful project. Also, there will be a featured story in the April/May Facilitator magazine on this year's event.

Lastly, I want to send a special thanks to the project managers, Jay Andruk, CRFP and Carl LeBoeuf, CRFP and to their company, K&N Management who supervised, worked at, and coordinated all the activities of this year's projects. The success was entirely due to their efforts and passion for giving back. Of course we all know who the real hero's are and we thank everyone at Mobile Loaves & Fishes for their assistance to the homeless in Austin. It's a amazing way to give dignity to those in need.

Again, thank you to all the donors. I am truly grateful....

Dover and out.

Foundation Work is Complete!

Posted By Jeff Dover, CRFP, RFMA, Friday, July 20, 2018
Updated: Thursday, July 19, 2018

Hello RFMA members,

The weather is heating up in Texas and so is the work at Mobile Loaves & Fishes(MLF). As you can see from the photos, the new foundations for a tiny home and a new pizza oven were poured this week along with a concrete road repair. Special thanks to all from Elite Paving. They finished this up in just a couple days in over 100 degree heat. We are planning on building the small home along with a storage facility during the upcoming Volunteer Day on Saturday, Sept. 8th. Don't forget to register on our website and book your room at the downtown Sheraton Hotel. Besides the buildings construction during the Volunteer Day, we will be completing all sorts of landscaping, gardening, and general organizing in their offices.

We are still needing several items to help out MLF.

Following is an updated project/equipment listing showing what is still needed. We are really hoping to get contractor help with materials and possibly professional labor for some projects:

Commercial Kitchen

The equipment upgrades to the commercial kitchen will expand the offerings of the facility. The equipment will allow MLF to increase the number of people they are able to serve as well as increase volunteer engagement in the kitchen. Additionally the new equipment will increase the health, safety, and usability of the kitchen space.

2019 RFMA Gives Site Announcement !!

Posted By Jeff Dover, CRFP, RFMA, Tuesday, April 17, 2018

Hello RFMA Members,

RFMA is humbled and pleased to announce our RFMA Gives 2019 site is The Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF) located just outside Austin, TX. This year’s Project Co-Chairs are Jay Andruk, CRFP, Carl LeBoeuf, CRFP, both from K&N Management and Daniel Osborne, from Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas. After visiting several wonderful organizations in the Austin area, MLF was chosen as a great fit for our association. Their mission is “to provide food and clothing, to cultivate community and to promote dignity to our homeless brothers and sisters in need. We empower the community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless”. They have several food trucks that go out daily to provide meals, clothing, and hygiene products to the local Austin homeless community. They built a “Community First! Village” that houses and welcomes home individuals who have been labeled as outcasts and pushed to the fringe of society to be forgotten (this is where our Volunteer Day will be). Feel free to visit their website at: https://mlf.org/  to learn more. There are also several YouTube videos available to review. We are very excited and looking forward to another wonderful and rewarding charity event.

The following potential projects and item needs are listed below. Please review and let us know what you can provide for required equipment, labor, and/or financial donation. Signups are now being accepted for any of these projects.
