There are many theories as to why an asphalt parking lot fails however once it fails what is the correct fix? In this session we will review failure mechanisms that are typical from across the nation and present techniques to diagnose and properly address (scope a project) the failures. An introduction to crack sealing, pavement patching, seal coating, and asphalt overlays will be part of this webinar as we build to the RFMA convention. Questions with pavement failure photographs are encouraged to be sent along ahead of time to ensure we openly discuss your findings and solutions with the entire group.

Presenter: Timothy R. Murphy, P.E.
After graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology in December 1984 and acquiring his professional engineering license in Illinois in 1990, Timothy Murphy began to quickly move up the ranks of the Illinois Department of Transportation. After leaving IDOT in 1994 he joined the Asphalt Institute, which is a non-profit organization that promotes the proper use of asphalt mostly throughout the U.S., however there were occasions to assist engineers with asphalt worldwide.
