Boards & Committees

The RFMA Board of Directors is made up of 12 Restaurant Professional members - 4 Officers and 8 Directors-at-large, who are elected by the membership, and a board alternate who will assume the role of director if a vacancy occurs. There are also two non-voting members, a Vendor Representative appointed by the Board, and the RFMA Executive Director. Directors serve a 3-year term and the Vendor Representative serves a 1-year term.

This group deals in one-on-one recruitment efforts, using personal contacts as well as marketing lists to make phone calls and send letters and emails to increase awareness of RFMA among restaurant facility professionals. They also aid staff in the development of recruitment events such as golf outings, regional networking events, and trade shows.

The Member Retention Committee helps determine ways to utilize the RFMA website and other social media outlets to connect members and provide valuable tools to keep them engaged. They also oversee the new member mentor program to insure a positive first year experience for all members through effective communication of member benefits.

RFMA Gives is the charitable arm of the Restaurant Facility Management Association (RFMA). It offers members the opportunity to give back, to network, and to utilize their expertise for the benefit of select non-profit food service organizations. Most recipients have limited access to external funding and demonstrate that our contribution will result in an increased capacity to serve their community. (See more description on group page)

The Advisory Board is made up of former RFMA Board members who wish to stay active in RFMA. They are included in all board communications and meetings upon completing their regular board term, as long as they meet the minimum standard of participation set forth in the Bylaws and their membership remains current. This is a non-voting position.

The Education Committee strives to provide RFMA members with direct access to knowledge and expertise which will further the interests of the Restaurant Facility Professional. They work with RFMA staff to help develop the education program for the RFMA annual conference, seek out and approve topics for the RFMA-U Online Webinar Series and source publication content for Facilitator magazine.They also support the CRFP Certification exam with Item Writing by Subject Matter Experts as the need arise

The RFMA Resources Committee has been put in place to build the RFMA resource library and help determine ways to utilize the website, online community, newsletter, and Facilitator magazine to provide those valuable tools to the membership.
