A free exchange of ideas on matters of mutual interest to representatives of the restaurant facility management industry is necessary for the success of all RFMA meetings. Such an exchange of views is essential to the successful operation of every professional association. Members of RFMA are reminded that certain areas of discussion among competitors must be avoided as posing potential antitrust problems. In general, agreements or understandings between competitors that operate as an impediment to free and open competition are forbidden. More specifically, the following kinds of discussion should be avoided so as to negate even the appearance of illegal or potentially illegal conduct:

-Discussion of prices, price levels, price trends, or terms of sale, either purchased or sold
-Discussion of refusals to buy from particular vendors/service providers or to sell to particular customers
