Announcing a new regional roundup event: Golfing for "Gives"
We hope you can join us for this unique opportunity to meet and mingle with other area RFMA members and have fun at the same time. We will have a private VIP room and multiple bays where our group can gab and golf. Top Golf is not just for golfers. Anyone from the hopeful pro golfer to your neighbor's 7-year-old kid can play year-round. Just picture a 215-yard outfield with dartboard-like targets in the ground. The closer to the center or "bull's-eye" you get and the farther out you hit your microchipped balls, the more points you receive. It's not golf — it's TopGolf. Give it a shot! For more info on Top Golf go to

When: Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Top Golf, The Colony
$20 Registration Fee: Includes unlimited golf, delicious appetizers and 2 drink tickets

KQED Science
The summer season often brings outdoor air pollution alerts, but it turns out the air inside a kitchen can sometimes be just as harmful. Several of the same pollutants found in smog come from cooking dinner. Range hoods are designed to capture these cooking fumes, but even some expensive models aren't very effective. Clean green while keeping labor costs in check
Today's Facility Manager

Worcester releases new mechanism for oil disposal
Transporting hot waste cooking oil for disposal remains one of a commercial kitchen's most dangerous and yet critical jobs. Today's newest fryers have moved their waste oil outlets lower to the ground, yet workers often have to dispose of that oil into tall collection containers. The potential injury from spilled hot oil is dramatic and costly, putting the kitchen's owner/operator at significant financial risk. In response to the move toward lower drains and higher dumpsters, Worcester Industrial Products has developed its new SS-709-T "Shortening Shuttle" Waste Oil Carrier.
