Females in Facilities
RFMA is very excited to announce our new InSite group, Females in Facilities. After looking at our RFMA membership, we found that 20% were females from both the restaurant and vendor groups. With a increase in the number of females in the industry, we wanted to create a group that brings together these female facilities professionals and vendor partners. This group gives women a place to share, network, and discuss trends and solutions to better help them and their companies. Our goal is that this group will serve as a source and communication tool for our female members to utilize.
One of the great features in the Females in Facilities group is a forum which was created to allow female facilities professionals and vendor partners to network with each other and share common interests and concerns.
If you would like to join the group please log on to your InSite account and go to the Groups section. Request your invitation to join today!
Make sure to look out also for a special feature in the Decemeber/January Facilitator magazine spotlighting some of our female members including, Lilit Marzbetuny, Maria Johnson, and Charisse Luckey.
Board of Directors Election
Congratulations to Jack Kortekamp with Roto-Rooter Services Co., who was elected to be the new 2012 Vendor Representative to the Board of Directors, as voted on by primary vendor members. Jack has a strong history of service to RFMA, having served as Co-Chair of the Education Committee, Co-Chair of the Certification Committee, and was a past "Vendor of the Year” recipient. Jack will represent the vendor membership well and we look forward to having him join the RFMA Board in 2012.
The 2012 Director-at-Large election is about to be underway. All members should be receiving an email with a link to the online ballot this week.
You must be a member in good standing to vote and your member login and password will be required. Only one ballot can be submitted per member. There are 4 open seats for restaurateurs to serve as Directors-at-Large and these members will serve a 3-year term and will help direct the future of your association. Your participation in the voting process is greatly appreciated.
RFMA Gives UPDATE!
As many of you know in February of this year, RFMA Gives made a new kitchen dream come true for the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa, California, In 2012 we will once again lend our time, services, and supplies to the Same Cafe in Denver, Colorado.
Thank you to all the RFMA members that have already donated their time, money and supplies to RFMA Gives. Without wonderful members like yourselves, we would not be able to provide this kitchen makeover for the SAME Cafe.
There are just a few items left on our list, so if you are interested in donating to RFMA Gives in any capacity pleaseclick here to download a PDF on our newest project and the list of needs that you can help fulfill.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Heather Webb at email@example.com.
TheIns and Outs of InSite
If you have not logged onto InSite, you are missing some great conversations and connections that are happening with RFMA members. InSite is RFMA's own social networking site which is exclusively for RFMA members. We wanted to provide some quick tips to help you navigate and utilize InSite!
1. How do I create a profile?
Good news! Every member of RFMA automatically has a profile and it can be accessed just by signing into the RFMA website. Every member is also automatically in either the Restaurant group or Vendor group.
2. How do I add a picture?
Your picture can be uploaded by clicking on the "photo not available” and browsing your computer for a photo you would like to upload. Along with adding a picture for your profile, you can also edit and update your professional and personal information.
3. How do I make connections to other RFMA members?
Finding members on InSite is very easy. Simply search the member's name or their company within the Community Search located at the top left corner of the RFMA website. Once you have found them click on their name and click on connect. Your connection will be pending until the other member excepts your connection.
4. What is a forum?
A forum is a place where discussion and dialogue can occur between members. Some forums are public forums which any member can post on and some forums are private which can only be accessed in certain groups. If you post a comment on a forum it allows members to respond and comment back to your post. Starting posting today!
5. What do I do if I am not receiving InSite emails?
To change your email preferences for InSite, log onto your profile and select Manage Profile and then select Preferences under the Information & Settings heading. This will allow you to choose when you would like to receive notification emails.
Have a successful RFMA story?Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you or your company have had a success story about connecting with other RFMA members. We would like to compile these RFMA stories and feature them on a blog on InSite, our online community.
