RFMA Gives 2013 is now complete! We are excited to announce that a new commercial kitchen is officially open at Midway Safe Harbor. We were so excited to share with all of our members the new kitchen at the RFMA 2013 annual conference. The Orlando Sentinel and The Sanford Herald both featured great articles about RFMA Gives. MIDWAY SAFE HARBOR is in the community of Sanford, Florida. This organization, in partnership with the Seminole County Public School District and many other area agencies, provides
after-school programming, a foster grandparent program, health and
nutrition education and a "kids’ café” to more than 150 childrenper day, 5 days a week. In addition, theyalsoserve
meals daily throughout the summer, when they are open as a safe place for kids, 11 hours per day. To be eligible for services, children
must attend a Title 1 school (families earn $10-$20K/year). Prior to our makeover, all of the meals were prepared in a very small, multi-use kitchen with an all-volunteer staff.
See the video below of our completed project. Thanks to the many volunteers and donors who made it possible.
